Submission Opportunity: UIL Texas Prescribed Music List

As self-published composers and arrangers, ArrangeMe users are invited to submit works for the Texas Prescribed Music List (PML), which is overseen by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). The Prescribed Music List serves as the repertoire guide for the approximately 750,000 music students and their related performing organizations in the state of Texas.  In addition, several other states use the Texas PML as a repertoire guide. You may view the current PML at:  www.uiltexas.org/music/pml

The UIL seeks serious, high-quality original compositions and public domain arrangements for concert band, orchestra, and choir, as well as solo and ensemble works for winds, percussion, and keyboard percussion.

The UIL is now accepting new submissions for inclusion in the PML for the following categories:

Large ensemble repertoire will be accepted until December 1, 2022.

Solo and Ensemble repertoire will be accepted until March 1, 2023.

View all submission details at www.uiltexas.org/pml-submissions/overview

Please note some of the following guidelines for repertoire:

  • Works must have been released in this current year.

  • Arrangements of popular music are generally not considered. This is for original and arrangements of PD music that can be used in concert and contest.

  • Works must be graded levels 1-6, with the grade level roughly equivalent to years of ensemble experience of the players.

  • Submissions must include a recorded performance of the work from live players. No digital representations allowed.

We encourage you to submit your works at www.uiltexas.org/pml-submissions!
