ArrangeMe-Published Titles To Be Performed at The 76th Midwest Clinic
Four ArrangeMe composers and arrangers will receive performances of their music at The Midwest Clinic this December.
The Midwest Clinic International Band, Orchestra and Music Conference welcomes 18,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 40 countries, including music educators, composers, arrangers, and other industry professionals. In addition to speaker and clinician panels, networking opportunities, and an exhibit hall full of vendors including ArrangeMe, Sheet Music Plus, and Hal Leonard, The Midwest Clinic hosts performances by esteemed instrumental ensembles from the middle school level all the way through the United States military bands.
It is an event with enormous visibility, and a performance at The Midwest Clinic is an honor. We’re so excited to hear performances of four titles by ArrangeMe community members.
Will you attend The Midwest Clinic? Find out more about these performances below! And be sure to stop by the ArrangeMe booth in the Exhibit Hall to meet the team!
Congratulations to the following ArrangeMe members for their achievement!
Jeff Tyzik
Pittsford, NY
Tyzik is the Principal Pops Conductor of the Dallas Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Oregon Symphony, and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as a Recording Artist/Producer.
From the composer: “Three Latin Dances” was composed in September of 2018. In this short suite, I used three different popular Latin dance forms. The first dance section is based on the Danzón, a Cuban dance that is slow, formal and elegant. The Danzón transitions into a Cha Cha, another Cuban dance that is a medium tempo rhythmic dance. After a brief recap of the Danzón another transition evolves into a Malambo, an Argentine dance that is exciting, up tempo and whose roots can be traced back to the 1600s.
Jeff Tyzik’s “Three Latin Dances” will be performed by the Lone Star High School Wind Symphony on Monday, December 19 at 4:30 p.m. Check the link for the program and location details.
It can be found on Sheet Music Direct.
Perry Holbrook
Atlanta, GA
Holbrook is the Artistic Director of the Walton High School Chamber Orchestra in Marietta, Georgia.
From the arranger: I am a huge fan of Studio Ghibli anime and the music of Joe Hisaishi in particular. Given how this music resonates with my students, I have always wanted to do an arrangement for string orchestra. Hal Leonard's ArrangeMe platform enabled me to do this legally and feature one of my award winning seniors on piano. I am pleased to present this arrangement of “One Summer's Day” to the esteemed audience at the Midwest Clinic.
Perry Holbrook’s arrangement of “One Summer’s Day” will be performed by the Walton High School Chamber Orchestra on Tuesday, December 20 at 9:00 a.m. Check the link for the program and location details.

Joe Moore
Fort Worth, TX
Moore is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Texas Arlington.
From the composer: “Ojo” (meaning “evil eye”) was written in 2018 for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Percussion ensemble. The inspiration for the piece comes from Latin American folklore’s mal de ojo, which is essentially staring or looking at someone with envy or praise without touching them. It is believed that your spirit will haunt the person you’ve looked at with a desire to touch but didn’t. This is the goal of the piece; to keep the audience engaged throughout the work with quick passages, rhythmic variety, and timbre changes, giving the performers "ojo" because there is no other option but to watch and listen intently.
Joe Moore’s “Ojo” will be performed by the Roma High School Percussion Ensemble on Wednesday, December 21 at 8:30 a.m. Check the link for the program and location details.
It can be found on Sheet Music Direct.
Ethan Hight’s “Three Brief Emotions” will also be performed by the Roma High School Percussion Ensemble in the same concert on December 21.
Ethan writes, “‘Three Brief Emotions’ is a three-movement sound portrait of the main feelings experienced during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic scored for percussion quartet. Due to a lack of instruments during the pandemic, this piece was tailored to the instruments that each member of an online Texas Christian University percussion ensemble had at their disposal. Through intricate rhythmic and melodic motifs, the three miniature movements combine to form a unique and uplifting sonic experience for any listener.”
It can be purchased on Sheet Music Direct.
