Marketing Your Music

You’ve just uploaded your new chart to ArrangeMe—dynamics are marked, score and parts have been compiled, and you’re really excited about that new countermelody you added at the last minute … the hard part is over. Now it’s time to get the word out!

It’s never been easier to take an active role in selling your music, and we’re here to help. Check out the tips below for developing your online presence and marketing yourself as an arranger and/or composer!

1
Dedicated Accounts

Create new social media accounts dedicated specifically to your self-published music. Choose a username using your ArrangeMe 'Publisher Name' or some variation of it.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube are the first platforms you'll want to explore. We’d recommend setting up all of these at once so your username is consistent, then focusing on one or two to begin building first.

2
Get Your Links

Log in and go to Manage Titles. Select the title you would like to promote and copy the "Published To" links where your work is available for sale.

3
Share Your Links

Whenever you publish a new title to ArrangeMe, promote its release by creating a simple social media post that includes the direct link to where customers can purchase your chart from Sheet Music Plus and/or Sheet Music Direct.

4
#usehashtags

Hashtags get your posts discovered by connecting them to a related general topic. Be sure to use hashtags that relate directly to the types of arrangements you create. The number of hashtags to use comes down to personal preference. We recommend using five or six hashtags consistently and customizing with each post beyond that.

Pro tip: Hashtagify.me is a great tool to research the overall popularity of any given hashtag so you can optimize your chances of being discovered by the right groups. #arrangeme is a great one to start with!

5
Tag Artists

Where hashtags connect your music to general topics, artist tags or "@ mentions" are a way to be seen by people who follow specific account.

Be sure to tag/"@ mention" the Artist account in your post of the song you have arranged so that everyone who follows them can see that you have created an arrangement of one of their songs. (And don't forget to tag ArrangeMe, too!)

Pro tip: There are many look-alike/fake artist accounts out there, so be sure you are tagging the official artist account! The "checkmark" on some platforms helps to verify this.

6
Add Links to Your Previews

If you have a YouTube, SoundCloud, or other account where you share performances or recordings of your music, be sure to add the links to your arrangements directly in the song's description or in your bio.

Pro Tip: If you have YouTube videos of your arrangements, be sure to add that link to the "Title Details" of your song's profile page within your ArrangeMe account. The YouTube video will then show up to customers to view when they preview your arrangement!

Following these simple steps is a great way to begin building your social media presence as an arranger and/or composer, and the best part is it's free!
