Expanded Distribution for all accounts!

We are excited to announce an incredible new way to share your music with the world and earn money for your work: Sheet music published through ArrangeMe is now available to subscribers of Sheet Music Direct PASS and Noteflight, and will be available soon to subscribers of MuseScore Pro+!

Many musicians are turning to sheet music subscriptions as a way to access unlimited music for their gigs, the classroom, private study, and more. Sheet music subscription services are a fast-growing part of the music business; the major music publishers are already in this space and we want ArrangeMe members to benefit as well! It has proven to be truly additive to the digital download model as another way to earn money from your existing works, and unveils new possibilities for your work to be discovered by a wider audience.

How does it work?

Continue to publish your sheet music titles through ArrangeMe exactly the same way as you have been, no action required to participate. All existing titles, as well as your future publications, will continue to be available on Sheet Music Direct and Sheet Music Plus for digital download and you will continue to see earned commissions for each individual sale. None of that will change.

In addition, your sheet music will also be visible to subscribers of Sheet Music Direct PASS and Noteflight Premium, and soon be available to subscribers of MuseScore Pro+! Musicians subscribe to these subscription services to view unlimited sheet music, and their views are tracked by the platforms. Subscribers will not able to download or print your sheet music. You will earn commissions based on views, which will be calculated quarterly. A report detailing which of your titles were viewed will appear in the Sales Reports tab of your ArrangeMe dashboard. Payment is based on your share of total subscription views, and will be sent quarterly to your selected payment option.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled a list of FAQs to address your most pressing questions. You may also visit Help Center where you will find additional information.

Q: Can my scores be downloaded/printed by subscribers?

A: No. They will be available as view-only to paying service subscribers.

Q: How will I be paid for my work? What’s the commission rate?

A: You will earn 70% of net receipts for each view of your work, paid out quarterly, as outlined in Section 4.2 of the Terms of Use.

Q: When will titles be available at MuseScore Pro+?

A: Current plan is to have all titles live to subscribers of MuseScore Pro+ by mid-May 2024.

Q: Will my music be freely available to the public like other MuseScore titles I’ve seen?

A: No. Titles will be available to view by paying subscribers of SMD PASS, Noteflight Premium, and MuseScore Pro+ only.

Q: I publish Choral music and other arrangement types that usually require a minimum purchase. How is this distribution model useful to me?

A: This is a great opportunity for writers of Choral, Handbell, and other ensemble types to have a preview copy available to help directors who are subscribers make a purchase decision.

Q: If I don’t find this beneficial to me, can opt-out of this program while still selling digital downloads like I always have?

A: We highly encourage all ArrangeMe members to experience the additional reach and commissions from this expanded distribution opportunity, but you may opt-out of distribution to subscription services at any time from the Account section of your dashboard.

Q: Can I select individual titles to be available on subscription services or will my entire catalog be added?

A: Your entire catalog will be made available to subscriptions services when you are opted-in. Making individual titles available for subscription services is not possible at this time.

Q: Will my MP3 audio files be included in subscription services or just sheet music?

A: Only sheet music titles will be available to subscription services. MP3 audio titles will continue to be available to SMD and SMP customers as digital download purchases, but will not be included in subscription services.
